The start of the Pathway

Under 6 to Under 9

Boys and girls from Under 6 to Under 9 play modified versions of rugby union each Saturday morning with an emphasis on fun and participation under the Australian Rugby Union Pathway rules. The competition is run by Warringah Junior Rugby Union and Manly Junior Rugby Union with games being played from 8:30am and concluding around 1:00pm most Saturdays from around March to August.

Travel requirements are minimal with games played at Collaroy, Dee Why, Narrabeen, Newport, Pittwater, Wakehurst, Allambie, Forest, Harbord, Manly and Seaforth.

Game Modifications

Under 6 and Under 7 play a 7 a side game involving a two handed tag rather than a tackle, and a pass rather than rucks and mauls.

The tackle is introduced in Under 8 as well as rucking and mauling. The playing field is also increased to 1/2 field.

Under 9 increases the number of players on each team to 10.
